Linda's Car now recovered stripped of all parts (Pajero Reg # LN 373)
One of our great supporters Linda Nicastri from Partsology had her car stolen on Wednesday the 23rd of August in Newbridge Road Sydney. It has not been recovered here is what happened as described by Linda
" Last Wednesday got out of my car (Pajero) to open front gate at my friends house. as I regularly do engine running, door wide open, of course handbag and phone etc all in the car,
as I turned to walk back to the car a man got in before I did, I foolishly walked around the front of the car in attempt to beat him to the door but he was seated and putting the car into reverse as I was putting my hands on the door handle.. I had to step back quickly as he then drove off in my Pajero..
this car has the biggest brightest sign writing all over it so it is hard to imagine why even an opportunist would take it.. the vehicle was spotted again the next morning in Lakemba by a friend who, at that stage, was not aware it was stolen "
Here are some photos of Linda's car if you have any information or know the whereabouts of the vehicle please contact the police. The signs can be peeled off

The Vehicle is recovered by NSW Police on the 31st August at Granville
in the following condition

The vehicle was stripped of all panels except the back left hand rear and old panels were bolted on. The wheels were removed and replaced with an older set of wheels. The only ordinal panel left on the vehicle was on the back left hand rear and had been painted over.

All the dashboard and interior is stripped

SUSPECTED STOLEN MERCEDES PARTS OFFERED TO COP MEMBER
This was an incident reported to the National Parts Code by a Code of Practice Member in Victoria who was approached by a person attempting to sell motor vehicle parts. All COP members must report incidents of this nature to their local police or Crime Stoppers, however we will also post these incidents on our website to ensure that other COP members are aware of the incident and may be approached in a similar manner.
On Wednesday when I checked the messages on the Telstra message bank when I found a message from a guy calling himself Ben wanting to know if we were interested in purchasing some parts he had for sale for a Mercedes Benz and if so to call him back on his mobile telephone.
As were are in the Mercedes Benz spare parts business we are always interested in buying vehicles or parts new and used so I called the guy back.
Upon speaking with Ben on the telephone he informed me that he had for a 1988 or 1990 Mercedes Benz 190E 4 doors, a bonnet and grille, 2 headlights and 2 front guards and a front bumper bar for sale.
Being slightly suspicious at this point of time I asked him what had happened to the rest of the car and he informed me that as the car had been hit hard in the rear he decided to strip the car himself and sell the parts and he had already sold the engine and transmission. I asked him what had happened to the rest of the car and he informed me that the body shell had been taken to Simms Metal today and he just wanted to sell these parts and how much would I give him for them.
I told him he would have to bring the parts to show me and he would have to bring a drivers license with him for identification purpose.
He did not arrive, however the next day I answered the telephone to here the same voice once again asking me if I was interested in purchasing a boot lid, rear bumper bar and 2 taillights to suit a 1988 or 1990 Mercedes Benz 190E, as I recognized his voice I asked him if this was Ben, he stuttered and said no this is Andrew. Once again I told him to bring the parts so I could check them and along with the parts a drivers license for identification purposes and once again I have not seen him yet.
